Abstract
Role of Knowledge Repositories in Organizations

Knowledge repositories are commonly used by organizations as a way of capturing and reusing solutions to common problems, and are generally expected to improve quality of work, reduce cost and enhance employees learning. This presentation will discuss why employees seek out and access knowledge from these repositories, as opposed to other more traditional sources (colleagues and manuals). Furthermore, it will discuss how characteristics of knowledge submission process influence employees’ knowledge submission behavior.
